wheelz Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 any one know of a route from stellenbosch to somerset all off road. always wanted to do it but dont know were to go, and not sure if riding on a private farm is a good idea.
Velouria Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 You can do it partly, at the Paradys Engen on the R44, turn left, and head off along that tar road. When you know the area better, you can go through Eden. The tar road eventually becomes a gravel road. There is a T junction - turn right. This road will take you back out to the R44 at the camp site/ flying club. The rest of the route you can do next to the R44 on the gravel. I have tried to find a route before, but there are too many private farms along the way. I have however heard that there is a route from Lynedoch to the WaterWorks that is completely offroad. Not sure if it is over private property though.
