Fun in the Northern Farm Sun

I decided to drag my lazy bum out of bed for my first early morning ride at Northern Farm.

I arrived at 6:15ish, and some people were leaving already! However there were  a few more cars around. Set of at 6:30 for a bit of cycling and enjoyed the peace and quiet, clear morning air so much that I decided on another lap!!!

It was really beautiful being out that early with the very familiar farm smell around me - I spend a few of my very early years on a milk farm Big%20smile

What surprised me most was how many cars there were just past 8:00 when I was finished (yeah not finished!!). I would have loved to have gone for at least one more lap!

I missed a 'no bicycle' board and landed up at the equestrian parking area! OOPS!! Not to worry,my punishment was to go all the way back up the hill again!

This is really a great place for cycling!

I stayed on the beaten track, and did not hunt out single track, however  I see there were some who tried to retrace Johnson Cycle Classic single track through the woods.

I even had a tumble - chain came of small ring in front, ran out of speed, and then balance... Hello Mother Earth!!!

I enjoyed cycling at NF a lot more than cycling on the Spruit yesterday afternoon, however I will still use the Spruit as NF is a bit far away.

For the curious, have a look at my ride on Nokia Sportstracker. The slow marker is where I greeted Mother Earth.

Will definitely do this as often as time permits.

A truly awesome place.

I have found late Sunday afternoons to be agreat time to ride as well. It cools down as you heat up and when you fiish you go home, have dinner, watch a movie and generally just laze your way into Monday.

Quiet too.

Hehe... that's what you do now but we'll talk again in 5 months Wink

But to stick to topic, Northern Farm is quite a nice place to ride.. pity it's so far to drive to get there.. the Spruit is much simpler
