from the Irish Independent:

A taxi driver who claims a bicycle accident caused by allegedly defective roadworks ruined his sex life is seeking 38,000 in damages.
Michael O'Shea, of Parkhill Avenue, Kilnamanagh, Dublin, is suing Eircom, a building firm and a council, blaming all three for the incident.
In his claim, O'Shea, a married man, says he no longer has early morning erections or spontaneous erections as a result of sexual stimulation.
He claims in a Circuit Civil Court action he was cycling a near his Dublin home when the handlebars buckled.
He fell off and damaged his perineum, a delicate area near the scrotum. He also suffered damage to his left testis.
As a result of the injury, in November 1999, he claims he now has erectile dysfunction and passes urine every two or three hours in a manner that is intermittently slow.
The 38,000 claim is against Eircom; Rilmount Developments, Baldonnell, Co Dublin; and South Dublin County Council. The case has not yet been set down for trial.

and not ouch:

from the Belfast Telegraph:

THERE is no excuse not to get on your bike at The Embankment just like developer Christopher Carvill (above) as every home-owner will get a free set of wheels - with handlebars rather than power steering.
The towpaths that run along each bank provide a direct conduit to the centre, passing the ultra-modern Gasworks Business Park en route.
With parks nearby and a cycle path, there is every opportunity to explore and get to know a vibrant Belfast better while notching up some green points.
Want to watch the world go by? Join the thriving cafe culture on the Ormeau Road and Stranmillis or get a cultural shot at the soon to be revamped Lyric Theatre. With rowing and tennis clubs opposite the Embankment, there's ample here to keep body and soul together.

It doesn't say what caused the accident or why he is bringing the lawsuit. I can only imagine there must have been some roadworks or potholes.

It sounds pretty painful all the same though.
