's up?

Despite the obvious wrong against the manufacturer's specs, I'm after some real-world advice here...

I have Mavic 517 (disc) rims on my Trek Remedy. They're fitted with some Specialized Pro tyres at the moment, which are 2.0 across, and quite frankly, are sh*t tyres imo.

The rim states a max' of 2.3 when it comes to tyre width.

I fitted a 2.4 Continental Speed King to it yesterday, but did not take it out for a ride.

Am I looking to paddle up shi*t creek with the wrong paddle here, or do you reckon I'll be OK with this setup?

Also, the LBS recommended two different tyres for my bike...a Conti' 2.3 (name forgotten) up front, and the Speed King 2.4 at the back. The box that the Speed King came in says UST Tubeless on it (my bike is NOT tubeless). I asked the LBS about this and they said it's not a problem. Obviously not as I test-fitted it yesterday.

...but do you concur with his statement? I ask because I haven't ridden it yet.

Thanks, from someone who feels very lost after being off of a bike for many years. :D

Cheers, Nic
