landy.mike Posted January 17, 2009 Share hi guys time to purchase new computer for my mtb, do most of the forum members use cateye if so which model, else whats the other popular brand? cheers
EdoardoBianchi Posted January 17, 2009 Share If you're looking for a basic computer, Cateye is prolly as good as it gets. I used Sigma Sport in a past life. Solid and reliable.Try to get wireless speed for a much cleaner look.IMHO, you might want to consider going the Polar/Garmin route, giving you normal bike functions and HR all in one unit, as well as PC-based data analytics. Thomo Posted January 18, 2009 Share Very good advice from EdoardoB ... can't go wrong with Cateye for a basic bike computer ... they've been setting the standard for many years now.I've got a virtually unused Astrale should you be interested. Of course HRM's are the ultimate, but yes, they do cost a fair bit more.
