Did the TB last year. Not as bad as people say. Get used to time in the saddle and remember to eat and drink. The 2 main climbs is something that you will do in the dark. Try and do some night riding to get used to it. Enter the AMARIDER 100Miler on 16/05/2009 to get an idea of what it feels like to do more than a 100km's on the MTB.

Thanks for the tips, I am going to use the 100miler as a sort of a bench mark, if I really battle there I will possibly have a team for you to ride in.LOLSmile

The TB has a lot of waterpoints and with your map you can see the distance to each. Break it down into segments and ride from waterpoint to waterpoint. With your own bag waiting at each waterpoint/feeding zone make sure you leave a little something in it to make you want to get to the next point. Rather start a little bit slower than normal and pick up the pace to the end and you will be fine. Your back up driver will be your best friend at stop 5 if you can convince him/her to make you a hot plate of pasta or something to eat. Make sure you have warm clothing at stop 3. When we got to stop 4 it was 0 degrees. Bloody cold!!
