When you ride the spruit where do you start from and at what time?

I would be keen to join you.

hey dude,

we start at the entrance closest to beyers naude 8:00 for 8:30ish , right through the trees all the way down past the dam dodging mutts and grumpy old ladies, all the way to the highway and back flat out... were aiming for 1:50:00

we might go this saturday ile let you know,  what you ride with?

How about trying to steer clear of the old ladies and their dogs. If you do come close, slow down and try greet them. Might start making life a bit easier for everyone using the Spruit. Big%20smile

No thanks. Good luck to you though. I dont like to preach but I do equate setting records on the Spruit with speeding on public roads. I frown upon it but cannot say that I have never done it.Embarrassed I'm no Saint but spending more time walking along the Spruit I do see the flip side. Given that there are definitely parts of the Spruit that can be done at speed and others where a fair amount of caution is needed.

fair game mate, i do agree aswell, pity that the city is getting smaller and smaller, and that its actually NOT a biking trail. hiking trail as it is....

thats why im not a frequent flyer there anycase, i sort of feel im almost intruding....  thats why were looking at hills in krugersdorp and on the outskirts....  were probably gona cut out the dam area from now on anyway....  its just the track weve been pioneering since 91 with bmxs and bombers...... ah good ol days.....

any other tracks u can recommend.......

cheers

Sorry but cant help you with anything that doesnt need a bit of driving. What I started doing a bit before my biking took a back seat was to wind through quiet areas instead of hitting the trail in one straight line. Pretend you're a kid again on your BMX and you'd be surprised how many little loops you can fit in where grannies fear to tread.
