Silly to cycle that kind of distance with a current DVT. If a thrombus dislodges and heads to the lungs (pulmonary embolus) you'll end up in ICU or the morgue.

Are you on Warfarin? Would definitely wait until off Warfarin (probably around 6 months) before tackling anything like this.

and thought of this posting you made. I realise that you haven't had the stroke problem, but I do know you wear compression socks, and was curios about the effectiveness of them. Do they really help ? Put another way, can you feel a difference with/without them ?
