A bit of a hijack.

Hey Candz, just visted the site in your signature - how's the biking in that part of the world? - pics on the site look good.

Looks like a nice place to visit when I need to get out of town for a day or few

Hijack off Smile

...and as far as pedals are concerned, I had a set of those flat-on-one-side-spd-on-the-other (the metal ones with "spikes" on the flat end) and they just did damage to my shins and calves when I fell off the bike when I couldn't unclip.

Apparently falling is part of the fun, for those watching anyway Smile

@SilverMountain - went for a test ride today and all I can say is I think you'll enjoy the mongoose.

I think a thanks is in order to those who invented dual suspension on mountain bikes, my teeth and my backside thank you Smile

As for the 27th, I'll try make it, although I'm not really fit enough to do any racing just yet. Might just come and watch and support the beer tent and watch the Marathon vs. Goose challenge.

Bob, sounds like you are positive about the Mongoose. I am still waiting for the one I asked the LBS to put together. Was hoping for this weekend however it seems like it is going to take longer.

had my first little spin on a canaan - a demo model at the shop - today. the ride is nice. the sus is very plush, although i struggled to set it up for my weight. there's a tendency to bob under heavy in-the-saddle stoking.

a little bonus: i found this bike to be the easiet dual-sus to wheelie. i always have to work to find the balance point on a sprung bike, but the front end on this one came up easily and settled nicely.

ps, also played with a gt marathon today...hated it.
