I am at the point of buying a Ibis Mojo frame, but I read in one review the guy said that it is a great bike, but in the back of your head you always have the nagging thought that it is a carbon frame and he remained a little nervous that it will break under him.

This naturally got me thinking - do you guys trust carbon mountain bikes? I really don't want to have to replace the frame anytime because I have to, mainly because I don't think I will be able to afford the insurance on that bike, nor will I have the bucks to buy another one as I am selling all but one of my bikes to make this possible.

So am I crazy to even go this route, or are the Ibis' strong enough to withstand falls and spills?

Werner, I hope you are keeping the superlight?

My mate is also contemplating a carbon MTB and has those same worries.

will watch this thread with interest.

Hi felt, I will do my absolute utmost to rather sell the Trance and the Anthem in order to keep the Santa Cruz, I have been advised to sell the Trance and SL so I can use the Anthem for stage or lap races where the Ibis might not be the best, but I don't think I will be able to do that!

Wow... yeah - that is a bit reassuring. Maybe it is a bit of a myth, but still, Alu will bend and ding, carbon might just go crunch, but then again, it might really not.

Also I think that Brian Lopes probably does not only have one frame, and Ibis will gladly replace his frame should any hairline fractures come along, that is one of the luxuries most of us do not have.

But again, it might just be, as he said, one big misconception.
