  1. Rob Booth from Booth Bikes built a great set of wheels for me.
  2. I dealt with Barry 2 years back here on the hub when he sold his SC Heckler - he was a honest, stand up guy who even went out of his way to move forward a business trip so he could get the bike to me sooner. I reckon it's got to be a mix up with a prescription or something. I see from the Epic pics he is still riding his 26" SC Superlight - yes he has been riding for a while. Craig
  3. what bike did you have, cause if it is stock standard then all you are saying is the bottle cages are the same.give us more info?
  4. Hairy stick with spez seat post clamps and a spez MTB w/b cage. It's 30.9mm same as your morewood. Not lost a bottle in 11 months sinced I purchased them. And the added benefit is the bottle is close to the post so the w/bottle is under the rear of the saddle and for technical bits you can get your butt off and behind the saddle with no hookups and the bottle is easily accessed for hydration. Craig
  5. Ashima Airotors - lightweight, efficient and reasonable price.
  6. We need those ladies at the Attakwas
  7. 7 orders this year and one on the way with the 10% discount.I was shocked because with my luck I would have got that email 10 minutes after placing my order.
  8. I have the XTR on my marathon bike and XT on my trail bike, the XTR is lighter and I feel it shifts better.
  9. been running the XTR M970 for the last 2 years, excellent cranks - take a beating and the rings are still in good condition, only had to replace the BB after 15months.I highly recommend them
  10. get a Morewood Zula frame and swap your parts off the Scott
  11. Formula brakes are the best - I have R1's on my marathon bike and The Ones on my all mountain bike.Am extremely happy with their performance - never going to use Shimano or Avid again.
  12. For the extra money it is definitely worth it - less lense surfaces to keep clean, full prescription view through the lenses - it's great to see clearly through the top of the lenses when you are in the drops and also your peripheral vision
  13. Rudy project Rydon frame with impact Rx lenses, RRP was R5800.00,cash price R4800.00
  14. I have used the adidas shield with prescription inserts and both pairs of glasses (orange and black tint) have broken where the insert clips into frame. I saw the advert in ride magazine about the Rudy project impact RX prescription lenses and contacted my optometrist(spelling),he sent the precription to Rudy Project, they make the lenses in italy(photochromatic grey) and 5 weeks later I have the best glasses for MTB and road.
  15. I'm using Ashima Airotors, light and work well. And cheap from CRC.
  16. your hands should be on the grip shifts,no need to worry, you won't shift accidently.
  17. Don't go for the Superlight,I prefer only seeing my one and 1 or 2 others at races or on the trail. Go for the superlight -single pivot = low maintanance. Spend your money now on a good headset - CK or Hope, upgrade other parts as they wear out.
  18. The UST tyres will require 1 tyre lever to put on,with the Bontrager tubeless ready tyres you need 2 tyre levers and a buddy. Don't worry it's going to be much easier. felt cg2010-02-20 14:58:07
  19. Dr Drey She looks great,if you want to bring the weight down, look at the tyres. Those Kenda Karmas tubeless weigh 810grams each. You get some folding tyres(I went with Maxxi Ignitors from CRC) around 500grams and you will be below the magic 10KG mark. cheers Craig
  20. A mix of both. Shimano crankset and front derailer ; Sram rear derailer, grip shifts and Avid brakes.
  21. If you are just looking for a frame go for the Morewood Zula - you won't be disapointed.
  22. Epic bike shop does services of manitou shocks. felt cg2009-11-16 07:15:40
  23. technically I think it is how the crank arm is fixed to spindle.Only heard good things about both.
  24. Well than I would go for Shimano SLX cranks,+/- 900grams ; tough & reliable, easily serviced ,steel middle ring, chainrings are not expensive to replace.I think CW cycles had them for about R1400.00.
