Big thanks to Lee from Sweat & Gears @ Alrode BMX

Normally, when my son races BMX, I also enter in the cruiser class on my MTB (for the 40+ age), but on Sunday, the whole family wanted to go an see Vincent race at Alrode. With all the camping chairs and stuff, there was no place to fit my MTB in, so no racing for me today.

I have raced against Lee previously at other BMX events, and when I told him that I am not racing, he orginised a cruiser and helmet for me, and I managed to get a late entry in, and like they say in the classics, "the rest is history".

Thanks buddy.

PS: The old toppies might not be the fastest, but they race hard and is very enjoyable.

Nice one!

I wanted to race on Sunday. Built my new bike on Saturday morning and then went to Bryanston to get used to it.... 5/6 yrs off a race bike and I realised I need a bit more practice LOL

I am fine now, a couple of grass burns, but nothing more.

You were also motoring in the Dads BMX race.

I was always keen on doing the BMX thing, but after seeing the guys actually clearing the first jump on the Bryanston BMX track, I decided to rather get a Trials bike. Much safer.
