xml file for what application?

xml is merely a method to use standard methods to describe data in a manner that it will understandable by different parties... And for that the method to describe the data needs to be agreed by all parties.

So, what do you want to do with the xml file, and what should it contain?

technically, a .gpx file IS an xml file. Open it up with Notepad and have a look

Im trying out 2peak software and it says i can up load my garmin files

"Please note that the software that comes with your instrument often offers alternative formats and/or exports which can`t be recognized by the 2PEAK upload. We need the raw data files (see formats above) "

Garmin Forerunner 50-405 and Edge 205-705 models, GPS-Data (file format: *.xml and *.csv)

"Very simple upload: The file format is recognized automatically if the files correspond to the approved formats."

You should be able to export to .tcx format(variation of gpx I guess) via the Garmin Training Centre.

Give it a go, if it does not understand the file, it will tell you. Nothing will explode smiley2.gif
