Readings & Reception issues Cateye Wireless

Hi Guys

Hoping for some advice here.

Basically, the display unit to transmitter (mounted on the fork) continually either loses reception or starts to give inaccurate readings e.g. I'm riding at 25kmph and then it drops to 12kmph and then goes back to 25 etc etc (no the terrain isn't changing smiley36.gif smiley36.gif ). I find I have to continually keep lining up the spoke magnet to transmitter as the transmitter keeps moving away from the +/- 5mm recommended distance. If I tighten the transmitter too much on the thumb screw at the top of it, to stop it moving around on bumpy tar roads; it wont display at all.

When I took my bike in for it's first service, I told the shop about the issue, they put on new cable ties and sticky tape to re-mount the transmitter but within one ride , it was doing the same thing!!

My simple technical observation of the transmitter unit; seems to me that they are designed for the older rounder steel forks and not the newer carbon oblong forks, It doesn't sit flush against the fork and thus doesn't sit at the correct angle to truly pick up the magnet IMO???

Any help on set up will be greatly appreciated.
