kevin Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Hey Can someone give advice on cassettes please, I ride an RC3000 which has a 12-23 on it, taking a bit of strain on the hills, yup getting fitter however would it make a huge difference switching to a 11-25, someone at Gym mentioned a 27? Is this available or is that over board? will it make a huge differnce to a change to the 11-25...group set is Tiagra... what should this cassette change set me back?
kevin Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 some feedback for other newbies as I am learning, the 12 - 27 is hard to come by and could not find stock...the cost of upgrading the crankset to a52 34 - compact crank - it seemed cheaper to buy a new bike... Can someone tell me what level the shimano goes in ? ie: Sora Tiagra 105 Ultegra Dura ace ?
The Saint Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 You have the shimano levels correct....train harder solves the cassette problem Otherwise a 12 -25 is normally the cheapest way to go until you get stronger.
levett Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 You can go 12-27 in (as far as I know) 105, Ultegra, and Dura Ace. If you want to go to 11-27, it has to be the mega-expensive 7900 Dura Ace. Where are you based?
