dont want to hijack your post bud, have you seen the ad in all the cycling mags about the Rudy Project special they have on the photocromic rydons?

buy a pair of the photocromic rydons and you get a rudy project helmet and a t-shirt for free helmet worth R950.00 or something like that, so if you in the market for a pair of Rudys i would consider this offer just not sure what the rydons sell for? i wouldnt mind a pair

I got my rydons with photochromic 3 weeks ago and i love them.

Rode with them yesterday in the rain and they're awesome. The frame can also be bent for a better fit.

Paid R1700 i think at cwc.

I also have Rydon photowatchamacallit lenses, they are superb glasses, seemless transistion between differing light conditions, they are made for singletrack and the light that filters through the trees. The Sportsmask look sweet though, if you can get those in the phot..... lenses then you are stylin. Expect to pay between R1500 and 2grand.

MAckiemoo do the lenses go from totally clear to tinted? how are the lenses in direct sunlight? do they give sufficient protection?
They go from totally clear to about 80% shade, when cycling you usually arent staring into the sun (Unless you have just seen your ring piece) They are hundreds I use them for driving occasionallly and have never had to squint in very bright conditions. I was also sceptic at first, but now I will never ride with any other lenses in my life again.

rydon lenses go from totally clear to let's say semi tinted. They definitely give sufficient protection in direct sunlight.

I use them for road and mtb. Lenses can't break. They have a lifetime guarentee. (impactX lenses)

Only drawback is that they are not polarized. You can get photochromic polarized, but not the clear ones i think.
