You order, pay via credit/cheque card, you receive in about a week via your PO. VAT is not included in their price, which you pay upon receiving the item.

Postage on that item is only around R125.

OR you could just upgrade to 9sp, might be a better option depending on the current condition of your drivetrain stuff. Always well priced 9sp stuff being sold around here.

Thanks parabola. Where do you pay the tax when ordering from them?

I am currently looking what will work out the best for me. currently have those shimano brake/shifter  combo unit on. upgrading to juicy 5's. and now need new shifters.

any suggestions?

Ah I see. Juicy 5's are a good upgrade, I have the same. Make sure you use them with the Avid rotors, I used mine with shimano ones and they are not the same width as the Avids. What crankset do you have? How many km's on your current cassette/chain?

Well you could order 9sp shifters, a 9sp cassette and a 9sp chain from CRC. Your 8sp derailer and cranks should be fine with the 9sp stuff. Go with Deore or SLX if you want to spend a bit more for something longer lasting. Should be about R800-R1k.

If this is a bit out of your budget, then just order the Alivio 8sp shifters, but the problem is once your cassette is worn, you will need to replace that, so if your current stuff is worn, its worth going all the way and moving to 9sp all at once. You will save money in the long run, and have an extra 3 gears, which does make a difference!

I have only ordered stuff through the parcelforce option, in which case you pay the man who delivers the stuff to your door. On smaller orders you can use the royal mail option, I assume you have to collect from the PO and then you would pay them on collection.

I have done about 500km (not more) on this bike. So everything is still in good nick

Just spoke to my LBS and they have 8spd shifters (shimano acera rapid fire) if i remember correct for about R450. Maybe i must buy it for now (start saving) and when my casette etc are worn upgrade to 9spd?
