Not to change the subject of this thread Keith but how much performance gain will these few grams make? Just wanting to learn more about the technical things as I am new to the sport.

Negligible gains from the actual weight saving. Possibly some small gains from using higher spec components.

 

Weight saving is one of those things that's fun to do on occasion, 'just because you can'.

Geoffro it'll make my weekend rides 10sec faster, so when I ride the Shova next year I'll break 3hrs (missed it by a couple of seconds this year!) Don't get me wrong guys this is the only bike I own and am NOT rolling in the cash. I'm just trying to loose a bit of weight without spending big bucks.
