I have just upgraded to a duel suspension frame and just rebuild the components from the old bike to the new frame. Now the headtube is shorter on the new frame and I had to put more spacers in and it does not look that Cool. SO MY QUESTION IS: Can I put some spacers at the bottom of the head tube instead of just on top??<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Dont think so, as the bottom bearing will not work with spacer in there. Also it will put unnecassary strain on the bottom side of things due to longer leverage.

It's all about position on the bike. if the spacers keep the handlebars at the right level, leave them. Otherwise, drop the handles and cut off the top

if it has a normal headtube with a normal headset (ie not internal or inter grated) and 5mm will make the difference you;re after then a cane creek s3+5 headset is what you're after......

Edit and retract. I misread the post and thought the solution was a spacer.

Cut the steerer to the right size. Use a pipe cutter. Your friendly plumber will do the job for you in approximately 30 seconds. You could even go to a bike shop... I'm sure they can do it for you.

Great advice! I never thought of just taking it to a plumber.
