have a set of hollow bontranger rims. one's laced but oviod and before repair. the other's not, but whoeverEmbarrassedtook the other one apart lost control of two spoke nipples and now they're rattling around inside the rim. anyone ever managed to get the these things out?

it's not a real biggie, cos the wheel's going on the trainer, but i'd rather get the damn things out

I hate nipples rattling around inside.

I don't know what the rim looks like, but I usually "call" the nipple towards a designated hole by sucking it there with a vacuum cleaner. If you find you're not getting enough airflow, tape up the  offending holes and reduce the outlet areas so.

Once it is at your designated hole, it'll probably lie there like a breach baby. Now you need a tweezer. If it is a deep section rim, you may need some other grabbing tool. Get one from your local hardware shop and tell your wife I said you may get some new tools.

No use using a magnet, the nipple is made from brass.
