Hi,

Can anyone here 1. confirm whether the travel on a 80mm RST  M-29 Air Fork can be increased to 100mm by swapping / changing internals 2. if so what the job would entail and 3. whether it's a job best left to the pro's?

Cheers and thanks in advance,

Better still, talk to Johan Bornman - I was talking ti him last week, and he was showing me how it is done.

I believe that he has stripped and rebuilt a number of these (probably the 26" ones, but I'll put money on the 29" ones having the same operation).

thats should read 67mm - I have one and thats all I get but I have read else where that travel is a bit less than claimed - but who cares big wheels don't even need a suspension fork......

I have also measured below 70mm with all my weight on the bars.

I mailed Kiwi and quote his answer below:

"The M29 forks can be increased to 100mm travel, there is a separate part available but our shock technician has found that you don?t need the part as existing damper tube has two positions for the travel stopper on it and it can be moved between the 80 and 100mm travel positions." - Kiwi
