ShabMo Posted July 11, 2010 Share Can anyone help . I broke a rear wheel tandem skewer 3 months agao , and i cannot find a replacement . A normal mtb skewer is just too short . I believe i require a 145mm skewer . It is a cannondale frame . Why did it break? We had one break while cycling. The rear hub seized and wound everything up and the skewer broke while stressed. At speed you may just get a verrrry bad taste in your mouth. Check and make sure. We have Shimano Tandem Hubs on the Tandem.
