Ok. I have R5000.00. Which mountain bike would you recommend at Solomon's sale and why. I am not a MTB expert.

Can't find any info on the wheeler pro 59, but fuji Tahoe Comp seems like an okish bike for the price

When you buy at Solomons you must make sure you know what the manufacturers spec is on the particular bike, as on their website or contact the importer themselves. The advertised bike may have the frame you are looking at but groupsets, wheelsets and other components may have been swopped out. When I bought my Gary Fisher it had an El Cheapo wheelset on untill I showed them the speclist and they placed the original wheels they fetched from the back on.

 

Yes you can get bargains here but BEWARE!!!!!! Know what you are buying.

Ok, firstly - the treks in the price range are women specific, so those are out. That pretty much leaves the Wheeler and Fuji.

The fuji looks pretty decent, not the greatest fork, but for 5k its acceptable. Cant find specs on the wheeler, but it looks to me like an slx rd, which means its probably quite similar in spec to the fuji. Personally, I like the fuji though.
