SRAM XX GXP Crank Installation advice?

I attempted to install a XX Crank on my On-One Scandal last night but I am not sure how many spacers to put on the BB. The BB shell is 68mm and according to the installation instructions I should put a 2.5mm spacer on either side of the BB shell. The problem is that the Drive Side spindle doesn't fit tight against the bearing race. If I put another spacer it works fine but is the correct?

 

Plus, I cannot seem to eliminate the play of the crank.

 

Any suggestions?

Just use a spacer on either side, the drive side does not sit flush.
