hey fellow hubbers this appeals to all JHB cyclist

after a few years(actually 5 years) of putting up with an unhealthy lifestyle (junk food, sedentary job, smoking ,no exercise)

i have made the best choice and that is to get back on the bike.

the happy part of this choice would be the social group one would be involved in , all happy cyclist joining together for some fun , rides to the vaal and meetings and family fun rides ect ect etc ect including a sense of pride and belonging to a like minded group of friends

the sad past of this is no matter at what cycling clubs i look at there is always that issue of ridiculous club fees and long standing members , with extremely expensive equipment, who look down upon us average joes with our average bikes . these kind of individuals treat cycling as an exclusive sport or group of people made up of rich and successful people that most of the time dont have the strenght and stamina to even ride 100km

what happened to the spirit and fellowship of joining a club and those who have experiance or are seasoned pro's or semi pro's willing to give advice to the novice .

there are very few clubs with a dedicated sweep vehicle and a hands on skilled and experianced bike mechannic .

now i sound like im moaning and complaining but i think its time to create a group of like minded individuals who, willing to chip in , will be able to create a social cycling group with no politics , extremely ridiculous membership fees , possibly a car with a trailer as a sweep vehicle ?

what about maybee the group riding to example harties and the families all meeting us there and we all join in and have a braai ect etce tce

if there are any lik minded hubbers out there that have the same ideals and are tired of the big club bs mentality give me a shout or mail me

and lets see if we can make this a awesome experiance and possibly make new freinds
