I have R10,000 for a road bike...

Hi everyone,

 

Bike shopping is certainly hectic! Umpteen manufacturers and so many combinations of componentary!

So best to ask the experts.

 

I have a budget of around 10k. I plan on doing Ironman next year, but hope to do most of my training Mountain Biking. So maybe road riding once a week. I guess I'll fit bar extensions eventually for the time trial riding. I'm not sure if some road bikes are more proficient at time trial riding as opposed to getting a TT bike.

 

I'm able to get my hands on a new Specialized Allez Comp for 10k.

 

Any suggestions on how to spend my hard earned cash?

Cervelo Soloist has an adjustable seatpost to fit time trialing riding position. Can be pricey though.
