I am getting totally sick and tired of the morons who insist on ignoring hte signage at NF. Us mtb'ers are PRIVELEDGED to be allowed to ride there. it is NOT a right. sooner or later these numbnut f^&*wits are going to get us banned

please people, when you ride at NF do NOT ride the wrong way on marked paths and do NOT ride in areas where there are signs to say no mtb'ers.

There are a few places with no entry boards indication one direction close to the river, not good to go against the 'flow' there.

Otherwise, the rules(http://www.northernfarm.co.za/docs/Rules%20of%20Northern%20Farm.pdf) stipulate that you should stay on designated pathways and close any gates you open.

This indicates some leeway to explore and do your own thing.

I agree with Slowpoke. I went there yesterday afternoon and found a grass path / road leading off one of the main dirt roads. I rode along a short way (about 10m) and came across a gate which was open, but it lead into one of their big fields with the huge irrigation thingies. So i figured that riding in that field is not allowed so i turned back to the main dirt road. I did not want to disrepect their land and choose to stick to the main road where i know we are allowed to ride. I find it incredibly disrespectful to ride where there are signs saying no entry, or where it is not clear if access is allowed (common sense?). Rather stick to the routes marked on their map. Go and get a route map and follow it!

agteros, i am talking very specifically about people turning onto paths CLEARLY marked as no entry or in the opposite direction to VERY clear markers. self same people who then have "attitude" when requested by "wardens" to please respect the rules

Sad reflection on them then. :angry:Pity there is no real way of identifying people at NF :(

People are quick to point fingers at taxis etc that break the rules, whilst not being able to doing the simplest things right themselves.

Maybe cut their spokes with a side-cutter next time? :D Make it part of the rules of entry ;)

EDIT: Unfortunately vigilantism is not the answer, but it will be hugely rewarding to make these tjops push their bicycles back to the club house!
