Garmin Basecamp

I've installed BaseCamp and had a look at it - it's reasonable, but not designed for cycling or other sport. (You can download it for free.) It is really only of use if you have MapSource software, and does not provide an analysis of history of rides, etc.

I am however not a great fan of Garmin software, and use SportTracks (http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks). SportTracks 3 is however no longer Donationware/ Freeware, but the license of around R250 is worth it. (SportTracks uses Google Maps, Terrain and satellite images.)

(The Edge 800, however, looks excellent - my next toy!)

What a waste of 125MB - downloaded it and ... naa just dont do it!

Mapsource is better than Basecamp ... but what type of functionality are you after?

Got to agree with Edge705, Garmin software pretty much suck, SportTracks offers way more for sporty people!

Was hoping that the gods of mercy installed a brain somewhere at the Garmin computer software division and improved Training Centre  Obviously NOT  I'm sticking to SportTracks 3 and the Training Load plugin ;)

EDIT: spaces to make smileys show
