i noticed that the left pedal is not spinning as usual when clipping in. i removed the pedal and it feels a bit rough. i removed the spindle and there are 2 sealed bearing on the spindle and these seem to be the problem. are these replaceable ? if so by whom? my LBS can't help. Help

To answer the question. You can't replace the needle bearings in the pedal body. The two roller bearings are crimped on the axle, so they can't also be removed. If you want new bearings you'll have to change the axle.
