You can do it. Just make sure you leave enough length to securely mount it.

 

You can use the same cutting method as for steerers:

Just note that, to prevent splintering, you should use a finer blade to cut carbon than you would for metal.

 

Use Masking tape on the area you want to cut. If you do not have a saw guide like in the park Tool method use a sheet of paper.... fold it around the seat tube. Bring the two ends together so they line up and mark it. Now you have a perfectly aligned mark around the tube. take time and patience and saw it.
