std steerer in tapered headset can it be done

I'm looking at a bike that has a tapered headset can I put a std steerer into that. I would assume it has something to with spacers and adapter.

 

Or am I way off

 

Its for a trek top fuel carbon I have Reba race fork standard steerer 1 1/8 steerer I think

Yes it can, speak to your LBS! I don't know how or with what stuff but seen it done at my LBS

I just got a Cane creek headset that came with the adaptor. Think it was ZS - 3 but can check at home tonight
