Garmin Edge 800 users

I will be buying an Edge 800 performance bundle (Europe) from Chain Reaction Cycles. Will there be any warranty coverage here in SA?

 

Being a Mountain biker what maps are recommended and secondly I am travelling to Namibia and am sure this gadget will help with directions. Are there additional maps which need to be purchased?

 

Finally are there any pitfalls?
