Tyre choice for the Sabie Classic

What tyres to use for the Sabie Classic, any one with information?

With the x-perience I had mud tyres on and slipped on day 1 and 2,so against all odds I put on my Crossmarks and was never happier...the end

Sabie Classic is generally a lot dryer than the Experience.

I last did classic in 09.

If i recall, I was a on Cross Mark at the front and a Larsen at the rear.

 

You want something grippy on loose over hard. Mud isnt such an issue in Feb as in Dec.

Rocket rons is what i used, i found the cross marks to be a bit skittish , better than the crossmarks i liked the mountain kings , but mud hard pack loose rocks and gravel and slippery stones (4 day sabie experience ) rocket rons got me through with few slips etc.

tubeless folded tires are R700 at johnsons in edenvale but seen the regular ones for a bit less.

I did the Classic for the past 5 years, did it once on High Rollers, killed me on the uphills but the downhills i hardley held on to my bike...

twice one CrossMarks

and once on Monorails(2010 with the rain, was the fist time I did Sabie in the wet, was brilliant!)
