Ok maybe im just stupd but could you please explain to me exactly how the calculator works? What exactly is it comparing? :blush: The only thing I can do is place my wheel diameter :rolleyes:

You play around with the cassette and chainblade sizes. so you can check the ratio of your 53/12 compared to the 50/11 or 39/25 compared to a 34/23. The calculater proved to me that I woul be better off with a compact crank than a std crank to get the correct ratio. a 50/11 is a bigger gear than a 53/12 and a 34/23 is a lighter gear than a 39/25.
