I had a set that came with a Fuji that I bought (2005 model). Whilst riding up a steep hill the freewheel broke and my legs went spinning into space and nearly wiped out.

A local bike shop, known for their wheel building, could not repair them and they had to be sent to Cape Town to the Amercian classic agents.

I later learnt that there was a recall on the exact model for the exact same problem. When I contacted American Classic to ask why they had charged me R620 to repair a wheel that was subject to a recall for the same reason, they basically shrugged their shoulders and told me that there was no evidence to suggest that the damage was related to the recall.

I can only assume that 5 years on, the fault leading to the recall has been rectified.

Exactly the same thing happened to my cycling buddy (Fuji Team SL), only difs was that he fell very hard. This was during the 2006 Amashova.

Has any body had any good or bad experiences with the ac 350 sprint wheels? Im 82 kgs and like to call myself competitive. Are they worth it?

Definately! had mine for about 2 years now & the only problem ive had is that the previous owner left them standing for a year or so & the front bearings had to be replaced... cost effective, super light & great climbing wheels! They are recommended for under a certain weight tho... think its 90kgs, so you should be safe ;)
