looked very cool. Just not so sure about the 5km of portage on day 2! :o

Hi Guys!!

I just noticed all these cool comments about the Lord of the Chain Rings event. Thanks!!

I see the only concern is about the portage section on day 2. Well, our scout-master dr. Fick'n'Evil has just come back from a very successful scouting weekend in Hogsback, and has managed to find a AWESOME new loop to replace most of day 2's riding. Not that we say day 2 was too difficult. We just listened to our riders, and we are going to bypass the portage of stage 2 until we can get a proper ridable trail built over the mountain. But, as I say...... our scout master found an amazing mountain called Lowestoffe Mountain, which is 99% ridable!! And takes you to 1640m above sea level!!

LotCR 2011 is going to be even better than 2010!

Hey DirtBag

When do entries open for 2011? I have read only good things about it (missed it on SS though :( ) and have great memories of Hogsback from time spent there whilst I was at school. Never on an MTB sadly, but I can only imagine how good it will be. I would imagine it would rival/be similar to the 3 Towers at Mankele, which is - for me at least - the current benchmark.

From the www.ecmtb.co.za website:

2011 Race Date: 17 - 19 November 2011

Entries will open exclusively for 2010 entrants from 00:00am on 1 March 2011 till 23:59pm on 14 March 2011 (2010 riders can team up with new partners. You do not need to enter with your previous partner)

Thereafter the entries will open to the general public at 00:00am on the 15th March 2011

This year's entries are limited to 100 teams!!

Thanks BennieDikwiel for answering!

But just to confirm:

The Lord of the Chain Rings 2011 entries are opening at 00:00 tonight!! But the first 2 weeks are for 2010 entrants only. <_<

Last years entrants are allowed to team up with new partners, and enter early
