Powertap PRO+ or ELITE+

I have quite a few questions on the differences between the two models

The technical specs on their website shows that the PRO+ has "coded heart rate", which the ELITE+ does not have.

  1. Excluding the weight difference (158 grams) between the two models, what are the differences between them?
  2. What is coded heart rate, especially taken into account that whichever hub is chosen will be used with a Garmin Edge 800?
  3. What else is there (except weight and 'coded heart rate') that differentiate the two models?

Coded heart rate refers to the little yellow computer that comes with the Powertap when you buy the complete system (computer, strap etc.). The Elite+ comes with a slightly neutered version of the LYC.

If you're just buying the hub and using a Garmin, there is no functional difference between any of the ANT+ Powertaps. The only difference is in the axle and the materials used i.e. weight.
