    So my low gear is going from a 26:36 to a 32:42. So my low ratio is going from 0.72 to 0.76 I think it's close enough to be ok

    You are lucky, a click or creak that happens at the same spot in the pedal revolution is much easier to diagnose than a random creak. Could be one or more of your chain ring bolts that are not properly tightened or greased. Take apart, clean, grease and reassemble.
