  1. Tried kitchen towel and news paper, but wow newspaper really works well, even absorbs the smell better than the kitchen towel. Maybe got to do with the ink. Another thing, the moment you step off the stationary bike, take off your shows. I drove home from gym with my shoes on and its then that my shoes gets soaked with sweat. The drawback of easy walking MTB shoes. Obviously regular water and soap washing is a must.
  2. Thanks for all the great advice, especially newspaper and bi-card. I think more regular washing will also help, was worried weekly machine washing will stuff them up. I find that I really sweat on the stationary bike during the week so some shoe TLC in the week is needed.
  3. Hi Guys I sweat excessively when exercising. As a result my cycling shoes gets soaked and I have a constant battle keeping them dry and smelling like a daisy. How do you keep your shoes from stinking up the place? And how do you get rid of the smell once its there? Really need some advice, as this is placing strain on my marriage 😉
  4. Polar H7 with Polar Beat App works a treat to get HR info to discovery. I use the Polar Beat App to record my ride on my iPhone and this syncs automatically to Strava and Discovery. Got 600 point on Saturday. Pairing the H7 to the app can be fiddly, do not pair the H7 in the iPhone bluetooth settings, only pair it in the Polar Beat App.
  5. Yes, equal prize money is an excellent start. But is the participation numbers due to decades of discrimination or just because men and women are different and like different sports?
  6. No not saying that, but sponsors could possibly see a link in terms of ROI.
  7. So how do you suggest increasing participation levels of girls. From the races I have done, we are standing at about 10%. Getting to 50% is a tall order. Increasing elite ladies prize money is not going to do the trick, in my opinion.
  8. Isn't the point to attract more ladies to the sport. Having said that, is it even possible to get equal participation numbers? Taking into consideration the difference in the sexes. Most men like mud, dust, outdoors, a bit of fear, adrenaline. Things MTB provides lots of. These are not things the average lady are looking for in a sport?
  9. Did that, also deleted the App and reinstall, still does not pair. Will try the latest iOS as last resort and then probably just get the Polar HR monitor.
  10. How did you manage to link the Wahoo HR belt to the Polar Beat app. The app just reads searching when I wear the belt and try to pair it. The iHealth app, Strava and Wahoo app see it though. I suspect the latest version of the Polar app on iPhone is blocking 3rd party devices? I also tried the Wahoo app to iHealth app workout with heart rate but only getting points for steps. I think I now know why the wahoo is on special at Takealot - it is impossible to link it to Discovery
  11. The Polar Beat app does not want to pair with wahoo. I will try linking it to the Apple Health App. Thanks.
  12. Hi Guys Been using the hub the last few years as a very useful source of cycling related information. Now however I need very specific info on Vitality. Been on Diamond status for a few years now and decided to get a heart rate monitor for them to again recognise my MTB rides (as was the case beginning 2016). I use Strava on my iPhone during rides. I bought a Wahoo heart rate monitor. I don’t like wearing watches and don’t see the need for a cycling computer on a MTB when I ride with my phone anyway. But getting Discovery to see my rides seems to be quite a challenge. Lots of health apps and synchronisation. What is the easiest way for Discovery to recognise my rides?
