A subaru should be serviced every 3000KM as the oil gets thicker making the chances of your engine blowing very high. Dont be fooled by the 12500KM service interval stated by the stealership. I do 3000KM a month and it doesnt make any sense for me to pay R2000 each time i show up for an oil change. So i did it myself. Very easy. Jack the car up on the passengers side, remove the plastic cover under the car (5screws and 4 plastic pop screws). My oil drain plug requies a 12mm spanner. I bought 10w40 oil R200 and an oil filter R56 from autozone. Dont forget to fill the new oil filter with the new oil as well.
