  1. Yeah, I agree. It sounds like my cycling partner is getting cold feet, so will definitely want to join a group as well. Indeed, gonna be epic!!
  2. Hi I was thinking of this route. The goal will be to get on the r44 as quickly as possible.
  3. This is what cycling is all about. Booked No. 7. We are 4 people currently, so if someone wants to take the last two spots on the unit let me know.
  4. Would you sell steel frame with carbon fork combo?

  6. And states that if you would like to use this route (the main road) you must have a day permit.
  7. From the photo, the route is called "Town Route" with pink status and elevation.
  8. Jip exactly the same experience, that's why I use youtube for anything service/upgrade related. You will be surprised how much you can do on your own and rather spend the cash on tools than expensive services.
  9. gravel bike looks like the right tool for the job here
  10. To be honest, I have no idea. Got it off an old fat bike from my father. Probably something generic, Ryder. Close to this
  11. Deon is awesome, helped me out a couple of times.

  13. Wanted to do full gravel bike, but ended up a rigid MTB.
  14. Update: 1. Changed the maxxis 2.1 to 2.2 Ikon skinwalls. The bigger volume makes for a more comfortable ride. Did the Gravel travel this past weekend and it was a blast, the light front made climbing a breeze.
  15. Hi Bigjim I stay next to an ASG store in Paarl and have a friend that used to work there. If you PM me the details, I can ask them after work and let you know.
  16. The Adventure bike is done. Did a 75km round trip this weekend to Papiesvlei and back. Coming from a full suspension, the rigid bike is a adjustment, but after about 20km you forget about it and the adventure begins. The BXT fork is really great quality, stiff as a board and holds up on any terrain. I bought bikepacking bags (ROSWHEEL) from Gearbest and it seem to be good quality. This has been an incredible experience and I would recommend building your own bike to anyone that doesn't mind DIY and getting their hands dirty. If anybody has any additional questions, feel free to pm me.
  17. The BXT fork's quality doesn't disappoint. Will test it thoroughly this weekend and post some pics on Tuesday. Enjoy the long weekend everyone.
  18. And now 3 months later after struggling with JIMC and having the parcel stuck at customs it finally arrived. Will update with pics of the fork after work and probably assemble this weekend. If you have the same problem, here is the contacts that helped me: Capemail - Deon.muller@postoffice.co.zaJIMC - socialmedia@postoffice.co.za - promise.buthelezi@postoffice.co.za -Joan.govender@cfgrp.co.za - Martha.Mahlase@postoffice.co.za 0119616005 - Elize 6013 6006 6001
  19. Hi Francois I would say the best is to check if the frame has an tapered or straight head-tube. That would be the deciding factor for me. It is rather difficult finding an decent fork with a straight steerer. If the head-tube is tapered, you can just upgrade your fork to a rockshox Recon/Reba and maybe change the groupset to an old Shimano XT 2x10. That should hold you for a couple of years and not break the bank. Enjoy the ride
  20. Can you make another one?, as I really like the design with the straight seat stays and the design of the fork
  21. Hi What bike model is this, it is not the normal steel build with fork and not the carbon frame. It looks like a steel frame with carbon fork?? and straight seat stays.
  22. Thanks, so 19 - Camp in Saldanha 20 - Camp Veldrift 21 - Backpackers Elands 22 - Camp Strandfontein I like it!!
