  1. Thanks rouxtjie, the double suspension is definitely easier on the butt!
  2. No, thank you for pulling me home in the last 5 k's, I was pretty shot. SeanN, Let's here it - 29'er or 26'er??
  3. Many thanks guys for an awesome ride. Really enjoyed it.
  4. Rad - This is exactly my point! Does'nt make any sense
  5. I have just had a look at my mountainbike seeding on www.mtncycling.co.za and it just does'nt make any sense. The race index they give does not seem to correlate with the finishing time and winning time + the average race index for the 4 races I've done does'nt add up to the race index shown. What also pi##es me off is my buddy who has only ridden one really obscure 30km race and is a beginner MTB'er has a better seeding than me. What gives??
  6. Well done! You deserve it! CC was tough and you beat a lot of really strong guys.
  7. The story is that one of the pro's bashed a pedal against a rock causing a shower of sparks resulting in a fire. The organisers had to shorten the course for +- half of the field as it was too dangerous to ride through.
  8. Passing was a bit of a problem in the beginning but eventually the field was well spread and had the track to themselves.
  9. Sitting at the race briefing on Friday night at the Garmin Rooiberg Eco ride the organiser was telling us how they had cut and linked 60km of singletrack. I was sitting there and thinking "maybe 10 or 20km of singletrack not 60km." Come Saturday sure enough 60km of some of the sweetest, steepest, most technical, most rocky, sandy and continuous singletrack I've ever ridden. I never thought I'd experience it but I was actually glad when it was all over.
  10. Both are very similar. I would go for whichever is the lighter bike.
  11. Even though the start was a bit of a mess I really enjoyed this one. Had to start at the back of the Vets. Quite difficult getting past all the traffic but always enjoy riding at NF. First race on my Cannondale Rush - Shweeet! Oh, IanJ - nice to meet you on the line.

Get Well Ryan Will be praying for you!
  14. Awesome Race! Some of the best single track I've ever ridden!
  15. Wow! What a tough race. Rode the 75km. Struggled at the end but altogether most enjoyable. For the experienced rider this race has it all. If you're up to a major challenge next year make your way to the monster. Interesting stat in the results: Over 150 DNF's
