  1. Somehow found the motivation to tackle Dorsberg at Meerendal after a family lunch and afternoon snooze! Worth it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Stupid question, but can you use Wahoo to sync with Discovery Vitality? That's one of the main reasons I'd consider sticking with Gamin...but this deal looks really good.
  3. If you missed this, the CWC Repair stand is still on sale for R490. Cheaper and appears identical to this one. http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/cwc-bicycle-repair-stand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. They specifically say: "We are looking into adjusting the route from previous years. Route maps will be released soon." From here: http://www.stellenboschmtbchallenge.co.za/route-info/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Maritz must have loved the new bike on his ride yesterday afternoon. The wind was not pleasant up the hill to the entrance and he gave me the most encouraging wave out the window as you pulled out of Meerendal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. When will the route and profile information be published?
  7. I got an SMS this morning:Hi GmtbR Thanks for entering DBX17 30km, C. Event starts May 27th 06:00, your batch at 09:40. www.entryninja.com Weird that it says I start at 9:40am when start time on website says from 8:05 every 5 minutes...so would assume C starts at 8:15. Anyway will see at preregistration on Thursday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hi, I'm down for my first ever MTB event - doing the 30km and really looking forward to it! Just a bit worried about what to expect with the weather... What do you guys use for the most accurate weather forecasts for these events? I've looked at Dark Sky, but don't know how reliable that is rural areas in SA. Thanks!
  9. That would have been my choice too,but strawberry was his choice. As long as Dad gets his flat white all is well with the world. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Chilled "Boys" Ride at Contermans this morning. Perfect weather for some father son time. The "tunnel" was a big hit and then we had the bush vine climb to look forward to: With only a little bit of walking on the looser tricky bits for 20" wheels. No moaning or strain and the hill was beaten And then the fun bits down and a reward! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My 6.5 year old daughter loves B Spot at Bloemendal on her 16" pink Princess Bike! She also easily does the short 5km route at Meerendal (including the single track portions). She even twice did a small bit of the blue route, but the climbs are too much and she soon lost interest in pushing. My 8 year old son has often done Meerendal, Bloemendal, Hoogekraal with Dad, slowly and with lots of breaks on the climbs. Also do yourself a favour and just join Tygerberg MTB club. Family membership is best value and pays for itself in a few months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Fairly new to MTB and this morning was my first time at Hoogekraal with my kid. We really "enjoyed" Spyker's Hill...well the view from the top anyway. The ride down to the parking lot was great, only spoilt a bit by over-caution that turned into over the bar on the damned wooden ramp thing. Only bruises and scrapes, a dusty bike and hurt pride and hopefully a few lessons learnt along the way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
