Hey guys. Some news on the race at Tokai for next weekend. The track is gonna start above the road-gap in the clearing just after the first little steep bit. It's gonna go over the road-gap. down downhill 1. Over the road. Down downhill 2. Over that road into downhill 3/vasbyt. At the 3rd jump the track splits. We will be using the one that runs closest to the road so none of the slow pedally section. Then it's gonna come off the road over a new jump in to the quarry section. Tiny uphill back on to the road. Then where the roots section is it's gonna go left over Vince's jump and in to the school. That bit of track still needs to be built. The fast guys will probably do the entire track in 4.30 5.00. That's a lot of fun for R150. There's gonna be a build day tomorrow so if you want to help out a little we are meeting at the Tokai car park at 9 and going up in 2 bakkies. The new section of track needs to be built and there are other bits and pieces that need work. Sms me on 083 457-1923 or Vince on 083 448 1246 if you are gonna come help out. I rode with Vince yesterday and he said that if there isn't a decent turnout he's not gonna bother with trying to organize a WP series. There's a LOT of effort that goes in to organizing and running these races and all you have to do to show your appreciation is to show up. Pay the R150 and get shuttled to the top of the track you wish you could shuttle every weekend. So come on guys. BE THERE. And tell all your buddies too.

lucky bastards. nice track that. The red "circled area is where the track is. you go along CJ Langenhoven out of George towards Oudshoorn. If you start going up the pass you have gone too far. Turn right into the forestry college. it's a smooth dirt road with speedbumps. The road will curve to the right. there's a parking area right there. you go throught the gate and the end of the track will be to your left. Above is a zoom to the track location. Have fun.

Anyone looking to buy a kick ass jump bike? Frame is a Santa Cruz Jackal. I've only ever seen one other in Cape Town. Sunline bars X5 Shifter & Deraileur Etc Etc. I've given up hope of becoming a dirt jump legend. That's the only reason for the sale. R6500.00 I'm willing to swap for a decent xc bike.

No need for chairs on the back brah. Their are 5 air-conditioned chairs in the front. I agree on the viability thing. That's why lots of people must show. TBH tho i think the turnout will be low. it is argus day afterall. I know i'm gonna be there tho. I don't know how he did. he might be there on sunday. We can ask then. I don't know when we can go back. It's the shuttle day this weekend. I'm going up to Johanneshole next week so next Sat is gonna be a Tokai morning for me. Maybe the next weekend. So Saturday the 27th. I can steal (sorry typo) borrow some more wood from that huge pile at the end of the track too. hehehe.

The thing I hope everyone understands is that if it's well supported it might become a regular thing with a regular uplift. Uplift + multiple tracks = bike park There are 3 tracks at paarl with numerous other "freeride" obstacles too. With the uplift going on Sunday this is the closest thing to a proper bike park any of us will experience in Cape Town. I haven't spoken to chris since the race so i have no idea what's happening ito a series.

It's a dedicated vehicle. Hence the R100. but i might be tempted to use my truck. I'll still pay the R100 tho. Stefan puts in a lot of effort and we all need to support.

Sunline v1's are 737mm

Hahaha. I HATE the feel of boobars too. I had a sunline v1 on my dh bike. I bought boobars and just could not get used to them. I swoped with Pierre the one day up at tokai. he wanted boobars and I wanted his sunlines. Now i've got sunlines on my DH bike and my HT. Perfect. The whole wide bar thing is just so pathetic. seeing a 4 foot 3 15 year old with 780mm bars is laughable. Oh and 1 more thing on the whole boobar Steve Peat obsession. The "boobars" Steve Peat runs are NOT the same as the ones we can buy. take a look at the pics. The bend is far more pronounced than the production bars.
