  1. Hey All. Yesterday myself and about 8 others spent the day clearing a 100% brand new track in the hills between Tableview and Durbanville. We have gotten permission to build on the land at an old quarry. We cleared the first track but their is loads of work to do in terms of digging berms and jumps. there are a few natural features but lots of work is needed. it's been a loooong time since we have had acces to land to build an all new track. Exiting indeed. Oh and all of you youngsters should be ashamed of yourselves for not helping. Andrew Hill who is 58 came out and helped dig.
  2. Yup. it's on the 24th. I would go if they were gonna let me try out a Makulu. your_name_here2010-01-22 07:52:25

  9. I think the 13 December event has been cancelled. It was supposed to be at Eden but loads of trees have fallen from the wind and destroyed the tracks. There is a race on the 10th of Jan at Paarl again. Saturday practice and Sunday race. We are gonna meet at the car park at Tokai at 9 on Sunday morning and go up from there. I think the plan is to take up 2 vehicles with tools and bikes. Expect to be glared at from the cross country folk as they seem to believe that the tracks just materialize on their own. If there are more people we will probably take up more vehicles. There's also going to be a meeting of sorts to discuss the dismal state of racing in the WC. we have the best tracks and most riders and yet we managed to have no provincial series last year. The Natal guys already have their dates and venues sorted for next year. your_name_here2009-12-02 23:28:48
  10. DH trail build at Tokai on sun 6th dec, +-9am, two vehicles going up, bring tools. BE THERE!
  11. Ok. change of plan again. we riding Paarl on Sunday morning. I'll probably get there by 8. The unicycle guys are using DH1 and 2 as well as mamba, boomslang and vasbyt. your_name_here2009-11-27 04:34:12
  12. Oh God. I forgot about that.
  13. Hey man. We've had a change of plan. No riding spanish farm on the weekend. We gonna do a shuttle mission at Tokai on Sunday. Up Ou Kaapse in at Silvermine and a 15 min flat ride across to the top of the DH. 4 runs is about the limit tho.
  14. I think I am the guy on the HT you were talking to. I might be going to Spanish Farm on Sunday but if not we will deff go to Paarl. I will keep y'all informed. you might have to org your own shuttles cos we usually shuttle in my mate's vito. it can only fit 4 bikes. Paarl is the bomb. 3 tracks and a tar shuttle road. What more could you ask for? Don't say a ski lift. your_name_here2009-11-24 03:24:53
  15. OMG. I want a Troy Lee D3 so badly. I went on the website and had to physically restrain myself from clicking on the buy button. your_name_here2009-11-13 01:08:07
  16. The bone between your elbow and shoulder. he cracked the ball joint that goes in at the shoulder. I drove him down the hill in my jeep. It was painfully slow(pardon the pun) cos he was in such pain. Took him to Tokai Medicross where they gave him some painkillers. and x-rayed him. His wife took him to Vincent Palotti where the popped the shoulder back in. I spoke to him this morning and he reckons they might not have to operate as everything seemed to go back in in the correct place. He reckons the doc said 4 weeks and he will be able to do some light riding.
  17. Mine. Not that i can jump.
  18. My Mate Deon dislocated his shoulder and broke his humerus on that road gap on Saturday. The wind was howling and it just took the bike out from under him. I had to ride down and get my jeep up there to get him. Not a good day.
  19. It was a joke.
  20. I thought I'd throw in a pic of my Jackal. I've put on a chain device since.
  21. I saw Mark's chain device at the Paarl race. Very nice. All carbon and blingy. Typical Hopkins. He reckons the gonna be about $180.00. That's about R300.00 right? I bought his wheels off of him at he race. R3000.00 for hope pro 2 hubs and mavic 823 rims. He also threw in the cassette and the brand new Maxxis Minion Tyres. My wheels are now for sale. Any takers?
  22. Hey Nick. There is no criteria as such. This year their were 5 nationals. Jonkershoek George PMB Mankele Klapperkop The Cost was R140.00 per race meeting (if I remember correctly) which in my opinion is a bit of a bargain. Practice starts on Friday at about 1pm, Saturday from about 9 and Sunday from about 9. The racing starts at around 10. They set you off at 1min intervals so don't enter elites unless you are *** fast. The divisions as far as I know are as follows. Fun Men Juniors (Under 18) Ladies Sub Vets (30-39) Vets (40 and up) Elites (The fast guys) Don't be intimidated by doing the races. Everyone is really friendly and their are chicken runs around all the big things. Go and race yourself. My usual goal is to finish inside a minute from the winner.
