  1. I had the same sprayers with Joes, then switched. No probs since, HOWEVER..... The main thing is that the joe's I had in my tyres came from a large container at the LBS. I later noticed they don't shake the bottles before filling tyres, ie they let it settle and effectively only skim off the liquid only on top and wonder why they have so much thick "sludge' left. I suspect the same applies the the larger Stan's bottles too. I got the smaller single dose Stans which I always shake before use and have never had prob as in I still get a 3-5 second spray on a glass cut, but it still seals regardless.
  2. I don't know what's more impressive. The street justice or the fact that the police were almost immediately on scene.
  3. A bit overkill for XC commuter, but in love with my Gustav M's. All-weather no-compromise no-BS double-pot braking beasts (210mm front / 180mm rear). These brakes instilled a whole new level confidence for me. Pity Magura not local anymore, so self service and CRC only.
  4. I don't trust ANY so called supplier in SA anymore. They have a tendency to drop dealerships almost as quick as they can get them. Makes things frustrating for lbs's, when the dealerships keep changing and in the end the customer suffers. I will always try the LBS's first, who do try to help, but ultimately get let down the the so called supplier, and it's becoming easier and easier not to even bother.
  5. I learnt the futility of a small pump on tubeless. Especially when the air loss is significant, they lead to one pumping too enthusiastically/roughly, which can twisting/damaging the valve. Pump, bomb, repair kit for bundus. I ride mostly city during week, so mostly always near garage for which I use Shrader adapters.
  6. Nope, I know I'm a fossil at 36, but still got all my hair and most of my teeth blankster2009-12-09 02:31:18
  7. Hi, Recently got back into cycling (MTB) again after a few years. I cycle every morning/afternoon and one thing that's nailing me in the mornings is that when I wear my helmet and the air is just slightly crispy cool (by Pretoria Summer standards) it feels like I'm getting an icicle shoved through the back of my cranium (up left from the medula) within the first kilometer of my ride. I don't get this when I go without the helmet or when I'm wearing a thermal beanie underneath or when I ride in the hot afternoon. Health-wise, I'm overweight, but I don't have BP, Cholesterol or blood sugar problems. The old helmet I'm using is the hard shelled polystyrene cheapie XPRESS type with like 5 vents (3 front , 2 at the back) shaped almost like this one (ignore the "WRONG"): http://sfist.com/attachments/SFist_Brock/98062w.jpg The helmet size is 60 and it just fits with almost no wiggle. Too small maybe? Opinions? Anybody else experience these type of headaches? Time for upgrade (most probably, but want to get other inputs first )? Any recommendations? All inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
