  1. I went to upper Bloemendal this weekend (FINALLY! What an awesome trail!) and promptly fell my gat off. Exhibit A: https://www.instagram.com/p/BWFX4_6hBnH https://www.instagram.com/p/BWFaZezBuvP https://www.instagram.com/p/BWFY-jsBGkT https://www.instagram.com/p/BWC0ZpbhxRr
  2. Contermans this morning to check out the WC DH finals https://www.instagram.com/p/BVwzqR-h6fW/
  3. I'm still pretty stoked to just throw 2x of the Ardent's on special at CWC on my bike. I hate wide-narrow combos. Then the bike looks like a bloody penny-farthing
  4. Yaaay dual sus for meee! https://www.instagram.com/p/BVh28ath-qb/
  5. It was a good weekend for goodies http://i.imgur.com/Dpj5jjl.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/wP9QL1F.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/qFfoI4c.jpg
  6. Myself and the ol' bro in law klapping Upper Bloemendal yesterday. Pic taken at the old restaurant building https://www.instagram.com/p/BVM6xoPBdmQ/http://i.imgur.com/js2Ty4O.jpg
  7. Ah, good ol' AliX. I've got a whole bunch of carbon upgrades in the mail from there as well. I've read and watched some reviews and while every now and then someone reports the odd (sometimes catastrophical) breakage, for the most part, it seems that carbon is carbon is carbon. I opted for 3K instead of UD just to be sure, as I personally feel a bit better about a woven fibre over UD, especially for trail use.
  8. Another mega cycling bargain day on ODO today! 9. Hehehe This was on Lombard's Terra at Bloemendal, where there are two very similar looking wooden obstacles following each other. The first one is rather relaxed and can be covered at just about any speed without issues. The second one however needs to be taken at speed to cover the little gap between the lip and the landing, and he went over a little too slow, landing his wheel just shy of the landing lip. At least that's how I saw it. It was both horrible and hilarious at the same time But he's all better now. Plus I fell over about 3 min after this which made him feel a whole lot better about his bail. Such is life. It was an epic ride though. So much fun.
  10. A few bike goodies today: Xeccon Spear 900 Bike Light Xeccon CS01 Bike Light
  11. I got to witness this this weekend. ROFLCOPTER at my brother in law. It was the best. I even edited it in slow mode to the tune of "Turn Down For What" https://www.instagram.com/p/BU7aPHVhPfO
  12. Soooo just an update on this little guy... You may notice a small crack in the cover over the screen. It's not the actual screen that's cracked, just the cover. So following a lead from a fellow hubber (thanks mate), I phoned Garmin and asked to have it repaired. They mentioned that they do not do repairs, only exchanges and since the 500 was no longer being produced, they would only exchange it for the 520 at the cost of a VERY affordable "upgrade fee". Long story short, I no longer have the Edge 500. I now have a brand spanking new Edge 520, crispy fresh, box and all. Oh, and they forgot to remove the cadence and speed sensors, so win x 2! (Also, while riding the other day I branded a phenomenon that shall henceforth be known as "Trail-Tongue", which is the vocabulary shift that occurs when I hit inclines and start cursing like a dirty mountain pirate )
  13. Yeah man for sure, one bud gave me the GT I'm riding now, another gave me some lekker upgrades and now this one gave me the Edge 500. I've got good friends But I also repay their kindness when I'm in a position to do so, believe me.
  14. She may not be new, but she was also free. Got a Garmin Edge 500 with HRM and K-Edge brackets from a friend, gratis http://i.imgur.com/6pLEIf8.jpg

  16. I suspect that either a bank or saswitch is having issues today, since I've seen some other reports of failed payments as well. My ODO payments usually goes through pretty easily, except my Snapscan payments. That gives me crap sometimes.
  17. Bike carriers today folks! The roof carrier is already sold out, but the 4x4 carrier is still up for grabs HERE
  18. Tifosi sunnies on 46% discount today folks! Get them while they're hot! - SEEK FC - LORE - DOLOMITE 2.0
  19. Hahaha I'm only looking at that now, completely forgot about that indicator. Shiet, almost 1G. I should've gooid it harder!
  20. Where has my bike taken me? Down. It's taken me down. #noob https://www.instagram.com/p/BTzOMrphRg3/
  21. Ah, in the end it still comes down to preference. Different solutions appeal to different people. I for instance make use of a 2L Camelbak to hold all of my water, phone and keys, and it works perfectly for me. I enjoy having the little dangly tube going over my shoulder, available at a moment's notice with zero effort and I also enjoy not looking like a bicycle-riding handyman.
  22. Perhaps a fanny pack is worn in front and a moon bag at the back

  24. While it pales tremendously against some of the other acquisitions in this thread, this is what's making my happy right now... Fitted my new stem, handlebars, shifters and disc brakes this weekend! https://www.instagram.com/p/BTeO9NhBCho/
