  1. This is ridiculous, have you worked out the entry per km, surely a shorter route = no where near what we paid! If we have complained in the past how entry fees have got out of hand, this may be "unavoidable" but really 47km at the entry we paid!

I get the adjustment of the winners time and the beta factor as then applied to all. But I may be wrong but I don't seem to pick up that the mountain bike winning time is adjusted and no adjustment to this when these are used for your road seeding. Effectively the easiest way to get your road seeding up is go off road, which is surely not acceptable! Should be Road for road seeding only and mountain biking for off road seeding only. Only then will it be fair for all.

  4. What's also frustrating with this seeding for the roadies, is the 'beta factor " applied to the actual winners time to give a "new" winners time. I understand that it was introduced to level the playing field between the rides/course, the weather etc What I do have a problem with is the Beta factors used for mountain biking don't seem to be as harsh or at least don't seem to play as greater role. If you look at comments regarding the seeding, most will be saying their MTB seeding went up while the road seeding during the same period went down - and I am not suprised. Yes could be they only did road events, but what I have noticed is if you do more MTB rides for your same current fitness level (assuming you have some off road skill), you can raise your road seeding more than actually doing road events and this is absurd. KEEP ROAD RACES FOR ROAD SEEDING ONLY AND MTB EVENTS FOR MTB SEEDING! Looking further at this Beta factor for roadies, I have even had the case last year where I did a race two years running, with the first being A slightly slower time than the second...guess which one got me a better seeding mark, yes the slower. Yet even the weather/wind was stronger in the second. For some reason the Beta factors are not consistant from same event to same event, even if weather conditions are similar - so it doesn't always pay to improve!
