  1. What's the best sponsorship that you have seen at a cycling event? What did the sponsors do, and of what benefit was it to the riders? How did this help the sponsor leverage their sponsorship of the event. What would you like to see sponsors do at events? I'm tired of the bean bag under an umbrella. There's no engagement between the rider and the sponsor. Surely there's more to do? Anyone seen anything internationally that's different to SA?
  2. Happy Monday.
  3. Its that time...

  6. I'll take it. PM sent.
  7. So I was given a Lupin Edison Bike light that retails for over $600. Problem is the bulb is blown. I've downloaded the manual and it states that I shouldn't attempt to change the bulb myself. Firstly, the bulb is $40-50. Does anyone know a stockist in Cape Town (or SA?) Secondly, has anyone tried to replace the bulb themselves? Is it worth a go? Thanks
  8. And another one. How good is this lighty!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWZnm0Y8CM4

  10. So i went into my LBS this weekend to get a new chain ring for my MTB. I was told by the owner of the shop that Race Face parts were impossible to get hold of as they've gone t*ts up. I had 2 choices, phone around and try find a middle chain ring from a bike shop that had old stock, or replace my entire crank. I managed to find a middle ring at another bike shop, but i want to know whether i was about to get taken for a ride, of whether my LBS was lazy and hadn't ordered. The outcome of responses to this post will determine whether i name and shame (and continue to use) my local bike shop.
  11. Racing Ralph Snakeskin Front and Rear. Only way to go.
  12. I was a little skeptical about this race because of the cost and the fact that it did not include accommodation as well as returning to the race village every time you had a meal. I was wrong. This was an incredible race and worth every cent. The riding is some of the best in the country, and certainly not for sissies. My eyes have been opened to the trails of Knysna. Congrats to all involved and well done to all the finishers!
  13. I also don't think the bibs are too good. Fine for a couple of hours in the saddle, but i wouldn't do anything over 100kms in them.
  14. They are brilliant, good material, good quality. Just make sure you order one size larger than your normal size. They dispatch quickly but takes about a month to get here.
  15. Does anyone know where we can get the results online?
  16. I was told the Racing Ralphs were made for the Epic, and The Bulls' tyre of choice - the snakeskin being particularly tough and puncture resistant? At over R600 a tyre, this is not for free! Hairy - where did you find the Geax Saguaro?
