  1. Today I heard that if you start in the last group and behave (as in ride respectively) on a E-Bike it’s possible to ride the trail and the race but you have to declare it’s a E-bike so it does not effect the results and you not be considered as a finisher-which is prity cool 😎 (finally organizers using there heads ) E-bikes should not be excluded from any race. I ride both bikes and definitely think its prejudice to bar E-bikes on any day or race -simply put in place rules preventing placing and finishing if need be. Wine2whales have got it right , u can ride a Ebike any of the days - just don’t expect a placement. On E-bike it’s about fun riding.
  2. Well done 👏👏👏👏😊🥇🥇to all who organized the 94,7 - it was brilliant and fantastic fun! 😊🏆🏆🏆🏆👏👏😎 It was fabulous and realy good to see normal people with no masks 😷 having fun and not forced to conform. The race was fun a lot of climbing in the last 50% part. There will be those who moan, ignore the moaning it was a true privilege to ride in this fantastic race. Well done JMPD and JHB. What a happy great day in the saddle ! Well done to 94,7 and Virgin and all other sponsors!
  3. Fortunately I’ve only had one issue with the insurance and hardly made any claims in my entire life. However having so many college’s and friends complaining about insurance companies repudiating is definitely a major problem. If you know of a good broker that won’t recommend Discovary or GaurdRisk underwriters as a “reliable”” insurance company- please PM me and I’ll forward the details to the appropriate person
  4. Voice to speech - excuse types -Most insured South Africans on during the difficulties of dealing with the insurance companies with no recourse. As we all aware there is a breakdown of law and order and large corporations such as insurance companies as well as banks take it vantage of the situation. It’s a well-known fact that insurance companies are out not to pay any claims they have got terms and conditions and trained and skilled assessors that will look for any excuse not to pay a claim. It’s a well-known fact is it become more of a business by insurance to repudiate then to accept claims. The lemon in the street has a little recourse other than going to court and trying to fight a large corporation which will never happen unless they have insurmountable amount of money and hard-core evidence. This is not something unique and you should not be surprised about it as I’m quite sure there are more people that have issues with insurance than ever before!
  5. Be very careful when insuring a bicycle in South Africa. The short term insurance ombudsman which was supposed to be a partial independent judge -is not overrun by the insurance companies how pay their salary and tell the leaders how to judge and what to do. If they don’t agree that quickly replaced!!!! GuardRisk on the most notorious for the any policy under written by this company run for your life. most of the other insurance companies are just as bad as the each others. Jainsure can cost you more than anything if you fail to advise them on when you’re using your bike. Must think they’ll advise them after the fact but most cases you can’t do this and it’s illegal. Naked is wast of time. The key is to try and find a broker that is intelligent and will tell you exactly what’s in the policy documents as being a layman it’s not easy to always see this. They are few capable intelligent reliable and honest brokers left/ let me know if you find one. Lastly by ensuring your bike for many thousands more than it’s actually worth it’s truly a waste of time and all you doing is kidding yourself thinking they’re going to give you a brand new 2023 bike for a 2018 bike ! Stop dreaming and face reality and reduce the value and save thousands of Rands a year.
  6. Since signing up to the 94,7 I have received spam calls daily - can some tell me if they to have this issues !!!! I am pissed of my number is being sold off to harass me!
  7. My heart rate monitor strap wasn’t functioning properly and it was intermittent I didn’t sent it in to Garmin and I said I want need a brand new one. Before spending R1590 I took “boiling water” and washed the strap and pressed it down with my fingers and it’s been four months now and it’s been perfect in fact it’s working better than ever before!
